Acconet network cabling, fibre and cabinets in South Africa
Most of our Acconet range is structured cabling for offices, server rooms and installers. Copper cabling includes Cat6 UTP flyleads (patch leads) in 2m, 3m and 5m lengths and several colours, Cat5e flyleads, a 500m roll of solid copper Cat6 indoor cable and RJ45 connector boots in 50-packs. On the fibre side there are SC/UPC and LC/APC single-mode patch leads, SC/UPC pigtails, a fibre pen cleaner for SC, FC and ST connectors, and a single-port xPON ONT with Gigabit LAN.
For racks and power, Acconet offers a 9U outdoor wall-mount box with fans, a 1U 4-fan rack-mount fan unit, a 3000VA/2700W online rack-mount UPS and surge adaptors.
Tips for choosing Acconet cabling
Use flyleads for short runs between a patch panel, switch and device, and solid copper cable rolls for permanent runs inside walls and trunking. Colour-coded patch leads make it easier to tell networks, VoIP and cameras apart in a busy cabinet. With fibre, the connector type and polish must match at both ends: an SC/UPC port needs an SC/UPC lead, and APC (angled) and UPC connectors should not be mixed. Keep a fibre cleaner on hand, because dirty connectors are a common cause of signal loss.
