Aruba access points and switches in South Africa
Aruba, now part of HPE, makes business Wi-Fi and switching, and our range covers both. For wireless there is the Instant On AP17 access point for small businesses and the AP-504 and AP-505 unified access points, with the AP-MNT-D mount bracket and the AP-220-MNT-C2 ceiling rail mount kit for installation.
For switching we carry the Aruba 6100 24G 4SFP+ switch with 24 gigabit ports and four SFP+ ports, the Instant On 1930 8G 2SFP switch with 124W PoE, and a 24-port 1000BASE-T v3 zl2 module for chassis switches. Supporting parts include 10G SFP+ LC SR (300m multimode) and LC LR (10km single-mode) transceivers, a 1m 10G SFP+ DAC cable, the PSU-350-AC 350W power supply and an AC power cord.
Choosing Aruba equipment
Instant On products are set up and managed from a phone app or web portal without a separate controller, which suits small offices. The AP-500 series and 6100 switches are aimed at larger networks run by an IT team. (RW) in a model name refers to the rest-of-world regulatory version.
When buying transceivers, match the fibre type: SR modules work on multimode fibre over short runs, LR modules on single-mode fibre over long distances, and a DAC cable is the simplest link between devices in the same rack. If you power access points from a switch, check that its PoE budget covers all of them.
