Shelly smart switches and home automation in South Africa

Our Shelly range is built around smart switching. In-wall modules include the Shelly 1 Gen3 16A smart switch, the Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 8A relay, the 1PM Gen4 with power monitoring and the 2PM Gen3 two-channel switch with cover control for blinds and shutters. For lighting there is the Shelly Dimmer Gen3, which works with or without a neutral, and the Dimmer 0/1-10V PM Gen3.

For distribution boards, the Shelly Pro line includes the Pro 4PM DIN-rail relay, the Pro Dimmer 1PM and 2PM, the Pro Dimmer 0/1-10V PM and the Pro RGBWW PM five-channel LED controller. Energy monitoring is covered by the PM Mini Gen3 power meter and an 80A current transformer clamp for the Shelly EM Gen3. Sensors include the Shelly BLU Door/Window sensor, a Zigbee version, the Presence Gen4 radar sensor and the BLU Button Tough 1.

Choosing the right Shelly device

Check the load first: 16A modules suit most lighting and appliance circuits, while the 1 Mini Gen3 is rated at 8A. Choose a PM model if you want to see energy use, and a Pro DIN-rail device if it will live in the DB board. For dimming, confirm whether your fitting has a neutral wire and whether your LED drivers need 0/1-10V control. Shelly devices connect to mains wiring, so have them installed by a qualified electrician.
