Switched surge protectors, extension leads and LED bulbs in South Africa

Our Switched range splits into two groups. The first is power: 1-way TV surge adaptors (including a SANS 164-2 model), a high surge network-safe adaptor, a high surge multi adaptor with USB and 20W PD USB-C, a 3-way Schuko adaptor with USB-C and USB-A, 4-way medium surge multiplugs and extension leads, and light-duty and heavy-duty extension leads from 3m to 20m.

The second is lighting. Rechargeable fast-charge LED bulbs come in E27 A60 (5W and 9W) and GU10 (3W) fittings, in cool white and warm white, with a 4-pack option. There are also standard LED bulbs in B22 and GU10, the Aura Series rechargeable lantern with a lithium-ion battery and the Urban Pro Series 100W solar floodlight with remote.

What to check before you buy

Check the bulb fitting before ordering: E27 is a screw base, B22 is a bayonet base and GU10 is the two-pin base used in downlights. Rechargeable bulbs work in normal fittings and keep giving light when the power goes off, which helps during load shedding. For surge protection, use a network-safe adaptor for routers and fibre equipment, and a TV surge adaptor for screens. Choose the extension lead by length and duty rating, keeping heavy-duty leads for workshops and outdoor tools.
