EGA cable trunking in South Africa
Our EGA range is cable trunking for tidying and protecting cable runs in homes, offices and server rooms. Standard trunking comes in four sizes: 16 x 16mm (YT1), 25 x 16mm (YT2), 40 x 25mm (YT4) and 40 x 40mm (YT5). There is also 70 x 10mm half moon trunking (YT7), a low, curved profile for crossing floors where people walk.
Trunking hides network, power and AV cables behind a clip-on cover, which keeps installs neat, protects cables from damage and makes later changes easier than chasing cables into walls.
Choosing the right trunking size
Size trunking to the cables it must carry, with room to spare for future additions. One or two Ethernet or speaker cables fit in 16 x 16mm, a few network and power leads suit 25 x 16mm, and 40 x 25mm or 40 x 40mm suits bundles running from a desk cluster to a cabinet or along a passage. Use half moon trunking where cables must cross a floor, as its slope reduces the risk of tripping. Measure the full run, including corners, before ordering, and keep mains and data cables in separate runs where possible to reduce interference.
