Linkbasic network cabling and fibre in South Africa

Linkbasic covers the passive side of a network installation. Copper cabling includes Cat5e UTP flyleads from 50cm to 2m and Cat6 UTP flyleads from 50cm to 3m in grey, blue and red, plus a 22cm Cat6 Nano Thin patch cable for crowded patch panels. For terminating your own runs there are Cat6 shielded FTP RJ45 modular plugs and the EZ Combo RJ45 crimp tool.

On the fibre side we carry LC single-mode fibre pigtails in UPC and APC, LC-LC duplex couplers and a 1-port fibre termination box. For housing equipment there is the 6U preassembled fixed wall box cabinet and a 10-way aluminium rack-mount PDU.

Tips for choosing Linkbasic cabling

Match the cable category to the rest of the run: use Cat6 flyleads where the installed cabling and switch ports are rated for it, and choose shielded FTP plugs only for shielded cable. Colour-coded flyleads make it easier to separate network segments in a cabinet. For fibre, APC and UPC connectors should not be mixed, so check the polish type and whether your patch panel or ONT uses single-mode fibre before ordering pigtails and couplers.
