Micro Instruments PoE and DC power in South Africa
Our Micro Instruments range is power and monitoring equipment for network sites such as wireless masts, CCTV installs and server rooms. PoE injectors include an 8-channel gigabit model with a remote management port, gigabit DC PoE injectors that take 12/24V in and give 48V out, or 12V in and 24V out, at 30W, and a passive gigabit 4-pair injector with fuse and overvoltage protection.
DC-DC converters cover common conversions, from 12V to 48V or 24V and 24V to 48V at 6.25A, to a 22-30V in, 20V 60W out unit, with smart versions offering selectable or dual outputs. For monitoring there are the NPM-X compact remote network power monitor for 12-60V systems, an enclosed TCP/IP volt/amp meter with SNMP, an SOC monitor with Ethernet, a rack-mount server room environmental monitor, an AC interface for GSM units and an MPPT solar charge controller with Ethernet.
Planning a DC-powered network site
Match each device's PoE voltage before connecting: many radios and cameras expect 24V passive or 48V, and the wrong injector can damage equipment. Check the total wattage your devices draw against the injector or converter rating. On battery or solar sites, a converter lets one battery bank power both 24V and 48V gear, and SNMP or Ethernet monitoring lets you track battery state of charge and voltage remotely.
