TruAudio

TruAudio speakers and subwoofers in South Africa

TruAudio makes speakers for home theatre and whole-home audio, from visible bookshelf models to speakers that sit flush in the ceiling. Our range includes the PP-6 6.5" in-ceiling frameless speaker and the OP-6.2 6.5" 2-way outdoor speaker in white for patios and entertainment areas.

For freestanding setups there is the CT bookshelf theatre and audio speaker in black, the Premium bookshelf speaker with a 6.5" woofer and 1" tweeter in satin black, and the Premium round satellite speaker with 3" drivers. The Compact Series 10" powered subwoofer has a 250W amplifier and dual passive radiators for deeper bass.

Planning a TruAudio setup

Apart from the subwoofer, these are passive speakers, so they need an amplifier or AV receiver to drive them. The powered subwoofer only needs a signal cable and a wall socket. Check that the impedance and power handling of the speakers suit your amplifier.

For in-ceiling speakers, check the cut-out size and the space above the ceiling before buying, and plan cable runs early, ideally before the ceiling is closed. Mount outdoor speakers under an overhang where possible. Pair bookshelf or satellite speakers with the subwoofer for a compact theatre system in a lounge or TV room.
