Yubico YubiKey security keys in South Africa
Yubico is a Swedish company that makes the YubiKey, a small hardware key that protects online accounts against phishing and stolen passwords. Instead of typing a code, you plug in or tap the key to confirm a login. Our range includes the YubiKey 5 NFC with USB-A, as a single key, in black, or as a 2-pack, the YubiKey 5C NFC with USB-C in a 2-pack, and the Security Key C NFC with USB-C in black. All are FIDO certified, and NFC means they also work by tapping a compatible phone.
YubiKey 5 or Security Key?
The Security Key C NFC covers FIDO2 and U2F, which is what most people need for Google, Microsoft, Apple and many password managers. The YubiKey 5 series adds more protocols, such as smart card (PIV), OTP and OpenPGP, so it suits IT teams, developers and businesses with stricter login rules.
Choose the connector to match your devices: USB-A for older laptops and desktops, USB-C for recent laptops, Android phones and iPads. Always register at least two keys on each account and keep the second somewhere safe, so a lost key does not lock you out. The 2-packs make that easy.
